School Uniform
All parents, teachers and children can identify themselves proudly with St. Mary's Catholic Primary School. School uniform is one way in which this sense of identity is helped. The vast majority of parents support us in this endeavour and the turnout in school is very smart. None of the items on our list should cost more than children's normal day clothes and the range offers some choice.
Purchase school uniform by downloading and completing this form.
Asterisked* items of uniform are available from the School – please ask at the School Office.

P.E. Kit
It is important that children change for P.E. and begin to develop a sense of personal hygiene.
The School P.E. kit consists of a red school T-shirt with school logo* and navy or black shorts (cycling shorts are inappropriate).
Indoor lessons and all Key Stage 1 lessons (Year R, 1 and 2) take place in bare feet or black plimsolls.
For outdoor lessons black plimsolls or trainers are needed and a tracksuit or jogging pants and hooded sweatshirt* would be useful from Year 3 onwards. Children in Year 3 and above play football on the field and should wear trainers or football boots. Shinpads must be worn with long socks for all football and hockey lessons.
Jewellery must not be worn for P.E. for safety reasons.
Please supply a drawstring bag for P.E. Kit. It is important that P.E. Kit is in school ready for use every day. Key Stage 2 children (Year 3 and above) must get into the habit of bringing kit in on a Monday morning, keeping it in school all week and then taking it home for washing on a Friday. Children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 keep their kit in school and will bring it home every half term for washing.
Please name every item of school equipment clearly and check regularly.
Jewellery and Toys
Under no circumstances is jewellery to be worn at school, except for watches and studs for pierced ears. It is unsafe and can cause unpleasant injuries during P.E., Games and playtimes.
Watches should be taken off for P.E. and Games lessons and given to a member of staff.
Studs should be removed or covered with medicated tape, provided by the parent/carer. If you do have your child’s ears pierced could you please have it done at the very beginning of the Summer Holiday.
Please try to keep the number of non-essential items brought to school to a minimum as they do present problems of supervision. Mobile phones, radios, Walkmans and cassette recorders are not permitted at school.
We are not able to accept responsibility for items which are lost, although we do all we can to recover them within reason.
